this is what i’m talkin’ about

December 21, 2009

I’m ready for some snow. Seriously. And I’m ready to dust off the ol’ brain and do a project or two. I plan on fattening up my boyfriend over the break with some meals that take HOURS to make. I plan on snuggling my cat until she can’t stand me anymore. I plan on losing my mind in, like, THE NEXT TEN MINUTES!!, if I don’t get out of my merry little cubicle.  O, when will it be Wednesday, December 23rd at 3:00PM CST?

a goose egg that is not golden

December 16, 2009

I hit my head on the trunk of my car last night while loading my groceries. I have a small-sized goose egg that’s a little black and blue today. It’s made me grouchy.

I’m ready, O, SO, READY, for Christmas break.

now what?

The house is built. It’s kind of up-and-running. Most things are put away (though I can’t find my salad spinner or crockpot and have a feeling they are lonely on Maine). The house does not yet feel like a home, but loved ones keep reassuring me that this takes time. I cannot push one button. So I’ve decided that I need a new goal. Something to keep me focused and assist me in making this house a home. A creative outlet. . . .

And I believe this outlet will take shape in the form of crescent.  I am going to learn how to make croissants. Buttery. Flakey. Warm.  Amen.
